"Hello! My name is Victoria Hoffman and I joined Sigma Alpha Iota with the spring 2016 pledge class. I was first interested in SAI because my Mom joined the organization when she was in college in the 80s. She talked about her time with the organization, their mission, and the connections she got to make which made it very enticing. I also switched majors to Music Education in spring 2016, so I saw it as a good way to get to know more people in the music community at the University of Memphis.

I graduated in December 2019 with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education and a Bachelor’s degree in Oboe Performance. I currently repair instruments for Shelby County Schools and freelance teach in the Memphis area. I am set to begin a graduate degree at the University of North Texas for Oboe Performance in January 2021 where I will also be working in their repair shop.

My favorite memory of SAI is when one of our sisters took initiative and planned a trip for us to go see Hamilton in Chicago. It was a transcendental experience that I appreciate even more now that theatres are shuttered due to the pandemic. I also love that the women I met on the way shaped what my career looks like now. It was because of them that I had the opportunity to grow as a professional within the organization and connected with professionals that set me on my current career path. Not every moment was perfect in this organization, but I’m very glad that I got to be a part of it. I am hoping I can be part of the SAI chapter at the University of North Texas, as well if the pandemic permits. Love and roses!"

"I joined SAI in the fall semester of 2019. Andrea, a sister, convinced me during our Bible study sessions that it would be a great experience. I love music and Disney so it was a perfect fit. Even though I didn’t have much time with my sisters since I graduated in May of 2020, my experience has been great!

After graduating, I have been searching for jobs around the Memphis area while trying to learn Spanish, sign language, and how to be a generally healthier person. My fondest memory of being in SAI has to be when I was first initiated, and we went to El Mexcal afterwards. It was great to celebrate and get to know my sisters better! I have loved becoming part of this family!"

"I graduated in spring 2019 and I am now a graduate student at Boston University studying to get my Masters in Arts Administration.

My fondest memory of SAI is (maybe a little obviously) another craft night we had for recruitment week in 2017. We spent the night decorating mugs, taking silly selfies, getting to know our wonderful future sisters, and spending time with the Phi Mu Alpha brothers. Being in a room with so many wonderful, musical people laughing, telling stories, and getting to know each other better was a fantastic time and I will forever treasure those nights with my sisters."

"I joined SAI in Spring 2016 because I wanted to be involved in an organization that utilizes my interests/skills for our community. I graduated in May 2019! Since then, I have gone on to become a 3rd Grade Teacher at Millington Elementary!"

"I joined ΣΑΙ to find a group who shared the same love for music as I did. I wanted to find true and lasting friendship among an amazing group of women. I was initiated Spring 2013 Graduated August 20. I am currently working as a child caregiver at Learning Tree Day Care. I have been planning on future practicums for children's hospitals.

My fondest memories with ΣΑΙ were always small get-togethers whether for a holiday or simple coffee run. Even on the roughest day, my sisters would put a smile on my face."

This could be you!
